Range Rover’s secret shopper has been appointed!

So how many times in life have you become involved in something and believed it’d come to nothing?

I bet there are many times, right? Well, I didn’t feel that way when I was invited to become a Range Rover Community member, and my instinct was right!

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been regularly contributing to the forum; answering research questions and generally talking about my favourite car to be. Throughout this process,  community managers have been dropping hints but also keeping tight lipped about some exclusive Range Rover events due to take place in the near future.

Today, I was sent an EXCLUSIVE ‘ by invitation only’ invite to a Range Rover event day! That is one of the special events that most Range Rover owners pay to go on to experience new car models or indeed to put  their own car model through its paces on and off road.  On this occasion,  I (and a friend) have been invited to play the role of secret shoppers. Our mission (should we choose to accept it- as if) is to mingle among the assembled Range Rover owners and experience everything that they experience which is, among many things,  taking the latest, state-of-the-art, Range Rover Discovery for a spin,  testing on board Range Rover technology,  go off roading, simulate ice road handling, clay pigeon shooting, and so on!  Oh, and did I mention we’ll be getting paid for it?

That’s right, all expenses will be paid and we’ll also be receiving a generous fee for our time! In return, we need only attend a focus group at the end of the day and submit a report about our experience. Yes, I know, it’s a lot of hard work but, hey, I guess somebody has to do it.  😉 The event will take place at the well known (as a film location) Luton Hoo estate on the 12th November 2010.

Naturally, I interrogated the organisers about whether or not we’d get exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Evoque but it’s highly unlikely. 🙁  Oh well, you can’t have everything can you?

Meanwhile, I think I need to go to bed, I’m exhausted by the excitement of it all!
