Exclusive invite to the Range Rover Community

It’s been a few months now since I traded in my beloved Touareg  in exchange for a leased Golf and, yes, I’ve got used to it.  Is it bad? Yes it is!  Okay, maybe  not as bad as I thought it would be but I do miss an automatic car (petrol heads will disagree I’m sure) but I do. I also miss sitting high over the road, feeling like I own it and driving like a complete……!

Anyway, just when I was thinking there was no respite from my car doldrums, something very exciting has happened!  As you know, I’m holding out on a new car in anticipation of the all new Range Rover Evoque (formally known as the LRX).  It seems that the more I’m eager to get inside of one, the longer the wait but something happened today that may just alleviate this so called anxiety.   I’ve received a somewhat exclusive invite from Range Rover asking if I’d be interested in joining an online community all about the Evoque.   What do you think I said?

Exactly, I was signed up in seconds…I’m one of the very first people to sign up but it promises to be a very exciting experience. Apparently and logically there’s going to be much talk about the Evoque as it SLOWLY and PAINFULLY makes its way to production. Who knows, I might even get a special preview.

Electronics have no place in the bush. I own a 1951 sirees 1 , 1959 sirees 2 . 1965 Austin gipsy 1986 V8 110 county and a 2005 computerised discovery 2 . Although the discovery is a fantastic car I do not trust it to take me into remote areas due to the fact if the computer malfunctions I can not fix it. I am happy to travel into the Remote outback in any of the others. If land rover want to keep their place as a true off road vehicle then they should revert to the early day non computer Defender days. My 86 county is about to get a rebuild rather than buy a new one .
