“This Halloween, if you love books, the idea of visiting a creepy church at night and having a ghost story read to you by candlelight, this event is for you!” – Register Below!

There’s a chill in the air.  The trees are being stripped of their summer beauty. Autumn is here, announcing the dark side of the year.

It’s been nearly two years since the Unspeakable spooky book launch of October 2015. The successful event became standing room only and raised a considerable amount of money for the ancient church in which it was held.

Given its popularity, we considered staging an equally spooky event the following year. Alas, other commitments meant that I was unable to attend. This, to the disappointment of many. Okay, a few, OK my neighbour, oh unspeakable-standing1alright, my cat.

But this Halloween, if you like the idea of visiting an ancient atmospheric church at night, listening to an author read creepy chapters from his books by candlelight with the incidental bonus of meeting him, securing exclusive signed book copies and raising money for a church, then I have great news for you.

THIS HALLOWEEN, or more specifically, Saturday 28th October 2017 at 19:30,  we’re taking over one of Cambridgeshire’s most notorious churches; The Church of St Andrew and St Mary’s in Grantchester, made famous by the ITV television series by the same name. We’ll be turning the lights and the heating (because someone or something keeps tampering with it anyway) off and immersing you in a uniquely creepy, spine-tingling experience.

I’ve copied the official information below. If you’d like to join me for this exclusive event, simply click the REGISTER NOW button at the foot of this post and we could be meeting each other very soon!

psychosis-standing1The Experience
Dress warmly, check-in upon arrival at the church and receive a complimentary beverage before being shown to your seat (or pew) where you’ll get to experience the church in a completely different atmosphere. Meet Ben (you don’t know who he is? You will and wish you didn’t!). Then snuggle up (yes, we recommend you bring a friend, you know, for moral support) as Tony Marturano steps up to the podium to personally read some chilling excerpts from his bestselling supernatural chiller, UNSPEAKABLE and his recently released psychological thriller, PSYCHOSIS.

At the end of the read, you and other intrepid scareaholics will get the chance to ask Tony questions in the official Q&A before the prolific writer takes a seat behind the signing desk. There, you can purchase your own copies of the books, including limited edition hardbacks (for the same price of £7 – while stocks last) of the non-fiction jaw-dropper COMING UP FOR AIR, featuring Tony’s own sensational relationship story. Then, get them signed by Tony either to you personally or to someone else as truly unique Christmas gifts.

The Fundraiser
PLEASE BUY GENEROUSLY! Book buying at the event isn’t just a chance to secure a great read or exclusive personalised gifts for you and your family, but it’ll also double as an opportunity to support the wonderful church of St Andrew and St Mary’s.

That’s right, for every book you buy on the evening, Tony Marturano and aDA will donate £1 from the cover price, effectively raising £2.00 for every book sold on the night. This money will go directly to the bursar of St Andrew and St Mary’s towards the upkeep of the beautiful church. So, please BUY GENEROUSLY.

Things you should know
As Tony has already mentioned, something keeps messing with the heating at the church, so we’ve decided to switch it off completely.  So please dress warmly.  Also, we’ll be serving both complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages so we ask that you and your hand-holders be 18+ years old.  And, of course, this event is being staged in an ancient church with limited facilities. Please bring cash on the night as we’ll be unable to process any card payments for book purchases.

Entry & Registration
Entry is free. However,  spaces are limited and normally in high demand. Therefore, entrance to this event is by registration only. Please only register if you’re confident that you will be able to attend as we’d  hate for others to lose out unnecessarily.

Further details, along with an actual schedule of the evening’s events, will be emailed to you once you have registered and in the lead-up to the most spooktacular event of the year!

So, are you up for it?

If so, click the register button below and Tony and the event crew will look forward to meeting you soon!
