COMING UP FOR AIR; FIRST DRAFT FINISHED!

coming_up_for_air, first draft

Today, with the final sentence of “Only boring people get bored” I finished the first draft of my non-fiction manuscript about relationships, COMING UP FOR AIR.

If I said I was emotional, that would be an understatement… I’m actually in shock!

I started this manuscript over 10 years ago, inspired by the somewhat sensational breakup of my own six year relationship, I’ve since gone on to interview literally hundreds of people both in the United States and here in England, many of these in the American Armed forces. Coming up for air

This project has enjoyed the generous support of the Pentagon and many of its glad participants and reluctant protagonists. It’s as emotional (for me at least) as it is sensational; you will not believe some of the things many of the brave people featured in this book have endured.

And it’s this very thing that I’m hoping will resonate with many who read it.

This book was shelved after its first year in favour of other projects, but it was resurrected once more earlier this year and, eventually, after nearly 5 months of 04:30 starts, here it is, all 195,000 words, 665 pages of it.

My most sincere thanks to everybody who has contributed/collaborated so far and made this possible.

Now, for the hard part, the focus group and the initial verdict before draft 2! 🙂

COMING UP FOR AIR is scheduled for publication NEXT SUMMER 2015.

Congratulations Tony. Funny how a single moment, event, even just a single word, can start us on a journey we had no idea we would ever take.I guess you’re enjoying the ride! Looking forward to the book’s publication. A great achievement. Well done.
