Coleman-Rivers dinner party a successful blessing

What a great evening.

Another successful event albeit  I went it alone on this one. My sister and partner in crime, Francesca, believed that since this event was exclusively for a selection of my friends only that it would make sense that I host the dinner party alone. Yes, what a scary thought and it was!  As always with these things, it doesn’t matter how close you are to the people involved you just want things to be right. Well, control freaks like me do and I think I managed to pull it off, just about.

Most importantly, it was really good to catch up with some old and dear friends, to find out what exactly has been going on in their lives and, of course, talk to them about the upcoming masquerade party and sound out there interest in attending.   Of course, they were all eager which means that the Masquerade guest list is full at 16  people. As always, for those we couldn’t accommodate this time, there’s always next time.

Now that the exclusive Coleman-Rivers event is over, the attention can now turn to the Masquerade party next month which is already demanding a lot of creativity both with props, decorations, costumes and menu. Things aren’t exactly proceeding to plan but I guess that’s to be expected when you try to recreate a moment in time, 200 hundred or so year ago!  I’m sure it’ll be fine.

In the meantime, it’s the early hours of the morning and I’m thinking about how blessed I am to have the ability to host these events and to be able to spend quality time with some of the people that matter the most.  Life can be good.

  1. Hi there, I stumbled on your page from reddit. It’s not blog post I would normally read, but I liked your spin on it. Thanks for making a piece worth reading!
